How to turn Off Instant Upload from Google

I am a Facebook guy. I rarely use Google+ and almost always ignore the notifications from it. After seeing a strange notification of a picture I had taken, I got a shock of my life to find out that some of the pictures I had taken from my phone was secretly uploaded to Google+ using "Instant Upload". WTF...

You should check your Google+ account as well. The pictures can be found by hovering over the Photos menu in the left hand side of the Google+ web page and then selecting Instant Upload. The good news is, its not shared yet...

So here is how you turn off Google's "Instant Upload". I would call it "Secret Upload".

Step 1: Launch the Google+ app on you phone

Step 2: Click on the Menu option(or the 3 dots in Android 4.0 or above) and select Settings

Step 3: Click on "Instant Upload"

Step 4: Turn it Off

How to backup and restore skype chat history in Windows 7

Skype is the most popular instant messaging and free calling application out there. Most companies use skype as the official chat service. Its a great service. But there is one problem.
Skype history is available only in the machine you are using and cannot be accessed from other PC's. This is because skype chat history is NOT stored in the server but in your C: drive.

Using the steps mentioned below you can backup skype history from one machine and restore it to use in another machine.

Step 1 - Browse to C:\Users\<UserNameInTheMachine>

Step 2 - Open the AppData folder. If you don't see it, its hidden. To unhide select
Tools > Folder Options > View Tab > select the option "Show hidden files, folders and Drives" and click Apply

Step 3 - From the AppData folder, open up \Roaming\Skype folder

Step 4 - Copy all the contents in this folder and save it in a safe location or USB drive.

Now you have the Skype Chat History backup. Lets restore it in another machine.

Step 5 - Go to the machine which you need to view your skype history in and browse to the same location - C:\Users\<UserNameInTheMachine>\AppData\Roaming\Skype

Step 6 - Paste all the backup files and folders in the Skype folder. Click ‘yes’ to overwrite files and folders.

Your Skype history has been backed up. Enjoy!
